Credit cards with a default

Options
Howdi!

Looking into getting a credit card for use on odds and sods for my new gaff. More as a precausion than anything else. When looking on the experian site where they are meant to match you to credit all i seem to get is cards for building up your credit rating...it is currently at 975 out of 999 and the only reason for that is a mobile phone default of £40 from 2008. So no matter how much i use the card its not going to build my rating as thats the only issue. Am i likely to get anything below 30% APR. If not i wont bother.

I think Aqua do cards with defaults CCJs older than a year.

The Experian score is not worth anything.

Probably worth getting a high interest card and paying off every month as the older the default gets (especially a settled small one) the less impact it will have and the high rate card may then be a help.

Exactly only a £40 default which will damage your credit report till 2014.

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
