Plywood As Flooring?

hi i am very tight budget a friend has suggested i use ply wood sheets cut into planks as a cheap alliterative to laminate flooring its for a bedroom any thoughts or advice many thanks :beer:

    1) It'll look like dogs dinner
    2) Because it's not tongue and grooved, the edges will peel and fray within a few weeks
    3) you can get a cheap laminate from Magnet Trade for about £3.50 a sq metre at the moment which for a 4m x 4m room will cost about £80 including underlay and scotia beading. Not sure there s contest really.
    Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

    have you seen the price of 18mm or 22mm ply let alone the work involved in cutting it into planks, sorry just read it properly you only want thin ply but it's still expensive & like phil said it will look pants

    If you're on a real budget, scour Ebay, Gumtree etc. for secondhand laminate, I've often seen it sold off from repossessed houses or when someone's renovated their own house.
