Tax Credits - working full time

Hi, I have the opportunity to change my working hours from 21 to 37.5, my question is, what will this do to my tax credits? do i get more entitlement due to working over 30 hours, and then the extra pay I get taken off?

Yes it'll probably go up then down. There's a disregard for income increases (£10k at the moment) so the full effect of your higher income will be delayed a year or two, but you'll get the 30 hour element straight away, just phone and tell them.
You can check exact details on http://www.turn2us.entitledto.co.uk0 -
You can calculate the impact of your extra employment income on your tax credits by putting the details into the Turn2us online benefit calculator.
If you provide a few details about your age, if you have dependents, are a single parent, if you are referring to working or child tax credits, what your current income and tax credits are, versus future income with extra hours, etc, then some members may be able to give you a bit more info.0 -
