Close Brothers Savings - 3 year fixed term fixed rate Premium Gold account paying 4.00% Gross/AER has now closed:
http://www.closesavings.co.uk/accounts/closebrotherspremiumgold16closure/
In case anyone printed off the application form and left it a bit late to apply, Close Brothers are still accepting applications for the above providing you can return the paperwork to them by Friday 29th June (according to what I got told on the phone to them today).

I would not want to be fixed at 4% in 2015. Is it not possible to get a no notice account for that rate in Australian dollars, I bet that route works out far better0

I had a 3 yr fixed term deposit mature with Close Brothers, so thought it would be easier to re-invest with them.
Ive got a few of these fixed term savers so for me its easier to take out a 2 or 3 year fix and forget about it rather than a 1 yr one which you have to renew every year.
I think BM Savings are also paying 4% on their 3 yr fix but already got some with the Halifax so don't want to go over the limit.
4% not great but the 4 or 5 yr fixes are paying only a fraction more (some even less than 4% for a longer fix than 3 years), anywhere from 3.85% to 4.5% and you are fixed in till 2017.
I usually go for one of the top 2 or 3 yr fixed term offers available at time of re-investment of maturing funds (if I ain't got no other plans for the money at that time).Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0
