Apple iPhone fault GRrrrr!

Had a terrible experience with my iPhone today. It was working normally, but then about an hour ago it fell out of my hand and landed on my foot!! It really hurt!!
Was wondering if anyone can help with this. I emailed apple about it but all I got was an apology and that's totally not enough. I have a bruise on my foot about the size of a 5p, I could be scarred for life!
Do you think I should contact a solicitor? Would I be eligible for legal aid? I want to take this to the CEO of iPods at the very least! I'm also gonna contact trading standards, quoting the DSR's. Apple have a duty of care to my foot! I also emailed watchdog, that weakest link woman should find my case interesting.
I can't believe apple are such an uncaring bunch, making such dangerous equipment, what if the phone had landed on my BABY???? Or an elderly person!! Or one of the brave armed forces!! Or a child going through chemo!! Think of the children!
I appreciate any help, I really want an iPad and I'm saving up, so could do with some cash compo
