Hi all,

My fire alarm started beeping yesterday morning 30 seconds intervals, so I guess that the battery needs replacing....however I cannot get the cover off...is there a way to remove the cover, it just says pull and slide, I have pulled and pulled but it wont slide, I am afarid, that I am going to break it if I pull any further....any suggestions on how to remove the cover..would be appreciated...thx :o

Mmmmm my smoke alarm is the same unfortunately you will just have to pull it and if it breaks it breaks.
try pushing in the middle and pulling where it says pull at the same time (if you know what I mean).
If you get it open put a ten year battery in then you wont have the same problem for another 10 years!!!

In some areas the fire brigade do free home checks, not just for the elderly. When we moved in the came and fitted two free alarms with ten year guarentees.

    Might be worth a phonecall.
Depression is well Depressing. So I go shopping. Then I realise how much debt I'm in. Then my depression hits low and so I go shopping...
