Car warranty dispute

2»

Comments

  • Hi, I bought a new car in 2010 and so it is still within its 3 year warranty. The leather driver's seat has worn very quickly in that the car is under 2 years old and done less than 12,500 miles. I have put in a claim to the manufacturer only to be told it is wear and tear and is not covered by the warranty! I argued that the leather is not fit for purpose if it wears to this extend in a short time frame in the context of how many miles you would expect the car to run for in its life and how many years you would expect a car to last.

I have exhausted the manufacturer's customer services people in that they say I don't have any further options to escalate this matter.

I assume I have some kind of right with an external body but not sure who to go to and how to approach this.

Thanks in advance for any help anybody can offer me.

  • Stay well clear of this company. I recently bought a car from them last November when they were trading under "Village Car Supermarket". The car ended up having problems and after threatening with small claims court and Trading Standards they changed the company name to "Holywell Car Supermarket".

I repeat. STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY.

From what I can gather they have changed their name 4 time in less than 2 years. Every single time it has been to get out of fixing or accepting a car back for a refund.

They have been trading under the names...

    The Holywell Car Centre
    Metro Car Supermarket
    Village Car Supermarket
    Holywell Car Supermarket

Due to the company name and register owner change. Even Trading Standards couldn't do anything so now I'm having to pay for the repairs myself.

As stated in a previous post. Their website is just a copy and paste of the previous one with different colours. All the reviews get doctored to reflect the new company name. Even after phoning them and having the guy who sold me the car tell me he doesn't work there anymore, only to find out the very next day he still does, had no effect on getting my money back.

Save yourself the hassle and avoid this company and what ever name they decide to change it to next.

Couldn't find a review site to post about these guys but i just wanted to leave my experience.

Bought a Ford Focus from them in 2012 and these guys are a bunch of conmen.

soon as i drove it off the forecourt, the car had no oil, no petrol, no cambelt change and no service as promised.

The warranty they provide is worthless, the car immediately had braking problems and nearly killed me.

Needless to say, learnt my lesson about buying a second hand car. These guys are a bunch of criminals and should be shut down.
