pet insuranace. They havent been taking enough out, so am I still covered?

Hiya, I just have a quick question. I have been insured with tesco for just over a year and when my policy was up for renewal in april they wrote to me to say it was going up from around £13 odd to £21 odd. I gave them a call and said it was a bit of a sharp increase as I have never claimed and they said they would lessen it to £19 to keep me as a customer, I said fine. The direct debit has continued and I still have the same policy, but I have just checked with my bank and tesco are still taking the same amout out as they were last year and havent increased it, and now my dog has had an accident and I need to make a claim that could run into thousands. I called Tesco earlier today just to make sure my dog was covered and they said yes, she is covered for an accident and everything was fine with them, it wasn't until after I spoke to them I noticed the thing with the direct debit not going up. They say in the small print that they only pay out if the policy is paid up to date, but I dont control what they take out and its only been going on for two months so could this cause me problems or do you think I'm still fully covered?
