I've only just discovered this forum from mse weekly email.
i was parked at gateshead metro centre in a disabled bay with my blue badge correctly displayed,on my return i had a parking ticket stuck to my windscreen, stating i was parked in a disabled bay without a valid blue badge,i was within the lines of the bay ,i reckon the ukpc employee either misread the expiry or ticketed me because of my failure to display the time clock,i appealed online the day after, but haven't heard from them yet, i have read some of the other posts which say ignore as the tickets are unenforceable,is this correct & where do i find info to back this up?

Yep, it all fizzles out if you just ignore the whole scam. Your 'appeal' is just a phishing attempt to get info and to reel you in; it will be refused of course!!
Have a look at what to ignore here on this thread showing pics of the letters:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803
And have you watched the Watchdog clip? See it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAIcdi9niHA
You'll need to watch it to learn important info - namely how to make paper aeroplanes out of all those letters!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There are thousands of post on this forum confirming the fact that the PCN that you received is unenforceable. In any event, the blue badge is only valid in Council run car parks. It has no legal validity in private car parks. Others will be along shortly to confirm what I am saying and to explain it much better than me.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Thanks for the replies, the watchdog clip was very good, funny too!!0

you can ignore, and as you have a disabillity they are in the wrong, in fact the car park owners, the metro centre are in the wrong here as they are responsable for the actions of their agents, theres a good post in another topic on here, you could modify coupn mads response a little and fire that off to the car park owners - the Metro centre. they may try the its not us, weve contracted it out to a parking company - but the owners are responsable for the actions of thier agents, and need to be reminded of just who/what they have gotten into bed with. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3963877Coupon-mad wrote: »Here you go, they are breaking the law (but it's now the Equality Act 2010 which superceded the DDA):

As already suggested I would write and tell them (retailer and PPC, both):
'I am disabled with xxxx condition which affects xxxx (add brief summary of your condition and how it can slow you down, if you want) so you cannot lawfully impose the same time restriction on my parking as other able-bodied customers have to adhere to. It is perfectly reasonable for me to take 32 minutes more. If your cameras are sending these claims to all your disabled customers who dare to take a little longer, like me, then you are breaking the law without ANY thought being given towards any reasonable adjustments. If you continue to pursue this 'ticket' then I will have no hesitation in taking the matter further, including suing you and your agent for harassment and breach of the Equality Act 2010'.
Win-win situation for you! The retailer may cancel it anyway, or if not, then you can sue for a tidy sum in compensation if the usual scary letters continue to arrive. From the Plain Language Commission:
