Returning Law mower? (homebase)

Hi
Not sure if this is the right section but here goes

I bought a lawnmower out of homebase which cost near 300quid in March this year.

Now it meant to be self-propelled but it does not have the power to move it self lol.

To top it all off it's now starting to fall apart. Grassbox etc

Has one extremely lose wheel which wont stay at the set height no mater how tight you do the nut.

Think I have extremely good reasons to return it but since it after 30days whats my chances in a refund? or will they try and give me a replacement? Repair?

I know you people would class this as a cheap lawnmower but its only been used around 6-7 times lol

Articles have to be fit for their purpose under the Sale of Goods Act, and so you have a lot longer than a couple of months to complain if they don't perform.

They also have to be 'of merchantable quality' which this doesn't seem to be, so that's a second reason to reject it.

Don't be fobbed off with anything less than a full refund. I've found in the past that Homebase are pretty good in this respect, but I've only dealt with the one branch.

All goods are g'teed by law for 1 year. As long as you can prove when it was bought, take it back and demand repair or replace.

    Was Petrol

Just got back they where a bit cheeky saying I was rough with it. Was like new if I had cleaned the grass off it.

Tried to push repair or exchanged it for a new one. Dint fancy taking the same make or model.

In the end got paid a little more and got a far better lawnmower. New ones like a tank and would drag me behind it. The McCulloch couldn't even pull it self

Was not to much fight in them I think a few have returned them lol.

Avoid the new McCulloch lawnmowers just very bad build quality

Odd that, I have a 16" McCulloch petrol chain saw, its a first class bit of kit.

It may not have been a 'real' McCulloch. Homebase (and Argos - one and the same) buy the privilege of putting a well-known name on their own cheaply made products. i.e. a Qualcast labelled petrol lawnmower in Homebase has nothing in common with Qualcast manufactured lawn mowers. (Qualcast will disown the Homebase mowers)

I took back a lawnmower 11 and half month after I bought it to Homebase. No problems getting a full refund. Well pleased!
