I've only recently found a body lotion that actually works, i.e. actually softens the skin properly rather than just sitting on top or moisturising for a few hours, it actually seems to give you baby soft skin again.
It's Palmers Cocoa Butter AHA BHA lotion in the blue bottle. Because it contains chemical exfoliants, it really does reveal the baby soft skin underneath. It's absolutely magic and I can't believe it's only 4 quid for a huge bottle from Boots or Superdrug.
I'm not raving about the fragrance but to be honest, I'd still use it even if it smelt like dog poo
This made me laugh, seconded:)All power is from within and therefore under our control0 -
Lush's Dream Cream for me I'd have to say.
It deals with my ezcema and stops the itching, but I have to be religious with it and it doesnt smell like dog poo* Jan NSD *

3-week old trainers and rotting fruit were the analogies they used :eek:0 -
I like Palmers shea butter, but I can't find it in the shops so have to order it. I don't use much body lotion generally though.0

I've used body lotion everyday ever since I was old enough to realise that it made my tight and uncomfortable skin feel better . From the waist down I use something like a Vaseline lotion as that doesn't irritate . I have other body lotions for my top half . They're stronger smells as I do love my arms etc to smell nice ! My most favourite is Armani Code , I like the lotion better than the actual fragrance and smell lasts ages . Have tried Jergens and like that for legs etc too.0

Ha ha, i read those reviews too so i was expecting it to be way, wayyyy worse than it actually was. It reminds me a tiny bit of that yukky Angel perfume with its chocolate hints.11th Heaven prizes Number 103

For hands: CND almond hydrating lotion (also smells like marzipan, it's gorgeous).
For elsewhere, I prefer a thicker cream to a runny lotion, I think they absord better and lotion seems to leave me legs colder (!).
I LOVE the Jergens - it's amazing. I got a sample in a magazine and I went and bought a few tubes on it off the back of that. Lovely stuff.
I also really like the body shop butters - especially the cherry :j0 -

Yes, that is gorgeous stuff- I've used it in the past.
You're right about the smell as well... I didn't find it to be horrible as such, just a bit odd. Like you know when you walk into a room and you can't work out if they've used some weird polish, if someone's farted or if someone's drinking weird herbal tea (or a combination of all three). It's like I wouldn't be as bothered by the smell if I knew exactly what it was or what it reminded me of!Anyway.....
When I used that Palmer's stuff I added a few drops of perfume to the bottle (from one of the bottles in a mini-bottle giftset I got for Xmas) and it worked a treat.'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport. I find that most off the shelf body lotions are either useless on my skin or give me some sort of allergic reaction but the best ones I've had up to now have been from an eBay seller. They produce their own 100% natural, non-mucked about with skin care and it's gorgeous! Currently using their facial serum that contains Argan (sp?) oil amongst other natural ingredients and it makes my skin feel fab!
I don't really like slapping a load of chemicals on my skin so these are ideal.'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'
