Hours been reduced - Worried about redundancy

Hi
This is a bit of a complicated one and im after some advice if anyone can help me.
Ive worked for my company for several years now, firstly full time, and the last two & half years part time due to a having a child.
For the last year my company has only had two part timers working in my office - One working Monday Tues & Wed & Me working Wed morning, Thursday & Fri.
Two months ago they hired a full timer to work alongside us as we got quite busy, Today I was told they no longer want me to work Wed mornings (I did this as overtime rather than as part of my hours).
I am now worried about my job as work has gone a bit quite. They wont get rid if the other part timer as she is the bosses daughter so it will be me that goes.
My question is, can they get rid of me just after hiring a full time worker or can the fact that it office ran for a year with part timers work in my favour?
Thanks for any help and advice
Sarah

Sadly I think the company can pretty much do what it wants. The law regarding the using of redundancy to replace staff is fairly stiff meaning that the full timer is there doing the job now (Which means its not "Your" job they are doing).
If I were you I would quietly start sniffing about for a new job. Just put your CV together and get doing it. Even make a start tonight!
Hopefully the current situation will come to nothing, then again if they do make you redundant then you will have a good head start on job hunting or possibly you might even find something better and jump ship.
Good Luck!0
