Hi all,
Just wanted to know if we're being realistic.
Not taking into account fitting are these prices realistic.
3 bed semi house
Kitchen (quite big) including appliances £3k
Bathroom £1k
Carpet with underlay (hall, stairs, upstairs landing and 3 bedrooms) £1k
Flooring and tiling in bathroom, kitchen and living room £1k
New double glazing 7 windows and 2 doors £3k
Replastering most rooms £1k
Probably going to get kitchen from howdens, bathroom online will buy underlay and grippers from b&q or something as apparently it is cheaper?
Any other advice would be great
thanks,

Obviously it depends on the specification of the materials but assuming you are not after a marble wetroom and an Aga in the kitchen then the figures seem OK except for the plastering maybe (I'm assuming you are not doing it yourself otherwise £1k buys a lot of plaster)
Grippers - last time I bought any I got a box from Screwfix.
Underlay - again last time I bought any I got the best deal buying complete rolls from a local carpet shop.A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

thanks, Im probably going to have a go but will be paying someone otherwise. I certainly won't be paying £500-£600 a room though like some suggest. Is it really that hard to do?
the way i see it is that yeh plasterers are skilled workers but is it that hard. If it takes a guy a day to plaster a room it might take me 3-4 but itll cost me nowt except plaster.
am I being naive here?

It depends on the finish you expect to achieve and the state of the walls in the first place.thanks, Im probably going to have a go but will be paying someone otherwise. I certainly won't be paying £500-£600 a room though like some suggest. Is it really that hard to do?

thanks,
Taking a day per room, you have at least say 7 rooms that's a week and a half's work at say £150-£200 per day hence me questioning the £1000.A house isn't a home without a cat.
