You can file a dispute through Play so long as it is 7 days after the estimated delivery date.

It takes a bit of time; it happened to me in the early spring, but I did actually get the item when the seller was given a swift kick into action.

I've not had many problems on third-party marketplace sites like Amazon and eBay; however, my experience with Play makes me wary of buying from them again.

Neg the seller once you have a resolution - this sort of thing is really unacceptable anywhere but with Play involved you should get some sort of justice at some point.

Personally I wouldn't involve the bank just yet.

    Good luck.

Great - I think that's reasonable. It's more than they did for me, though I was not 'blessed' with such an 'honest' seller and until I got an item postmarked on the day I opened the dispute, I thought it had genuinely gone missing in the post.

Some sellers offer goods at cut prices in the hope competitors may reduce their price likewise ... and so allow the 'seller' to buy from the now low priced offering of another.
With many sellers using auto-pricing software, this is a distinct possibility.

Unfortunately, it does run the the risk that another person spots the low price offered by the original 'seller' and buys it, leaving that 'seller' somewhat red-faced as they don't have an item to sell - they are actually looking to buy.

This auto-pricing software can sometime be a little difficult to set up correctly, and a genuine seller who hasn't done it correctly could find themselves with a sale at a give away price.

Rather than lose money on the sale, these caught out sellers often prefer to claim the item is no longer available and cancel the deal entirely.

Do these type of fake sellers get into any trouble? I seem to come across these all the time where they cancel the order straight away. Very frustrating.

Raise a dispute with them, that should be possible a week after expected delivery.

You do not need to do a bank chargeback before you have exhausted Play's procedures.
