Then you should really thank Stephen Leak for making the comment in post #16...

.. and maybe me for editing the thread's title to include it :)

Nigella makes a lovely confectionery slice with them - I cant remember the exact quantities or name but its something like this
    Sweet and Salty slices

a couple of large bars of chocolate
    about 3 ounces of butter
    couple tablespoons golden syrup
large (massive bag really - but Ihave made smaller quantities by just stirring in enough to get ALL the nuts floating in the choc) bag salted peanuts

melt the chocolate butter and golden syrup in a saucepan and add nuts. pour into a baking tray or foil tray and cool in fridge for a few hours. turn out and cut into slices!
Trust me - its that easy and the exact quantities dont really matter!
and it IS salty and sweet and gorgeous!

  • If not, can you use salted peanuts in any other recipe?

We have a large (already opened) tub of KP salted peanuts, and whilst just chowing down on them is tempting, I'd prefer to use them in a main meal. I thought of nutroast, but presume you're supposed to use unsalted nuts like chestnuts and walnuts...

What else could I use them for, except homemade peanut butter?

Yes, that's what I thought of doing...I'm sure I can put them to good use somehow!!

I also have some nuts in shells (walnuts, chestnuts and hazelnuts) and some packs of salted cashews and salted almonds....that's a lot of nut washing to do!!!

Yes. I have a recipe for Thai peanut sauce that uses salted or dry roast peanuts. You just wash the salt or coating off.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

Wash salt off and use in place of cashews in chinese?..or the cashews since your last post.

    Some Indian dishes use cashews.

Not a main meal, but peanut butter, or just nut butter with all the others you have.

    Almonds roasted with fish.

    Satay.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
