Halifax Clarity CC - Starting Limit

Hi all,

Just thought I would apply for a Halifax Clarity card as I'm going abroad soon and it looks a great card, I've recently had some negative information removed from Santander also,

I applied for the card and got a straight accept for a very high credit limit 4k at 12.9%APR

Im ditching lloyds as I think they are as a tight as a ducks a** when it comes to lending any money. £500 CC ( after a long fight )

What was everyone else's starting limit and are Halifax abit more generous on the limit increases?

I am fully aware they are part of the same banking group but Halifax seem to lend more.

Halifax manage the Lloyds TSB credit card portfolio, so it's odd that you've had such a different experience.

It's probably just that at the moment they are looking to grow the Halifax book more than the Lloyds TSB book, or that they are targeting different types of customer.

Do you have other accounts with Halifax? I find them to be pretty generous with me but I do have a lot of other accounts with them.

I have two Halifax CCs (£5,750 & £5,000 limits each).

I imagine Halifax have access to your Lloyds account information because I'm with lloylds and always get preapproved things from Halifax.

I received a Clarity card last year. Initially my on line application was declined but when I complained they immediately issued the card with 12.9% APR and a credit limit of £7000, plus a goodwill payment. My wife is an additional card holder.

I didn't have any other Halifax accounts at the time but have had two Halifax mortgages and various saving accounts over the years.

When they offer another product which suits my needs I won't have any reservation at taking it.
