Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 27 June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All,
IM - Would love to see pics of new kittys when they arrive
Bright and sunny at the mo....hens and ducks are out, DH gone to work, houndettes to go out soon.
Work again today :T, then home to prep bedroom ready for painting tomorrow :T, The bed arrived y'day and is currently standing in my front room (can't wait to get on that beauty:D).
Didnt have a lunch y'day, as a little old lady who lives in the village drops a HM cake off every Tuesday, So i had a slab of that instead
...Oh my it was good victoria sponge with proper cream and nice strawberry jam
Tea tonight LO brisket.
Have lovely days xx

Been awake since 5.30 so deided to watch Gardeners world, and Alan Titchmarsh that I had recorded. Enjoyed the quiet actually!
Nothing to do today. Tesco coming later on. Was going to have DGD this morning, but DD's training cancelled as trainer is ill. Need to make a doctors appointment to change my BP pills. The side effects are horrid!:o

Morning BB & all who cross/follow
Overcast here today & it's supposed to be muggy.
Fish fed, packups made, hubby still in bed, he's been asked to do the late shift for the forseeable future due to staff illness.
I've added a video of my bonkers grandaughter to face book, she's so funny, we're thinking of hiring her out as a floor cleaner.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Dull and overcast here, lets hope it brightens up later.
Thanks for the good wishes re my ear, its gone from a continual stabbing pain, to a continual dull ache, which I am hoping is a good sign, fingers crossed it gets better during the day.
Off to work today, will see how I get on with my ear, if its to bad, I will come home early, need to get well before saturday.
Dinner tonight will be pasta with pesto for the other 2, there is also some smoked sausage to use up, I will have some of the fritatta left from yesterday, (trying to empty the fridge)
Need to hae a quick tidy through, and do a wash tonight.
Have good days all
Camelot, enjoy your last day, hope its not too sad xx0 -

Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Dull overcast and very wet underfoot, has been raining on and off since I got up, but sun now trying to break through the clouds. Still feels quite muggy.
DH up and off to work at stupid early.
Dinner last night was a mixture of pasta, smoked sausage, peppers, and mushrooms with a red pesto sauce, seemed to go down quite well, and used up bits out of the fridge that otherwise would have been thrown away. Also remembered to get chicken out of freezer to defrost for tonight's dinner. Also made 1 loaf in BM.
Work wasn't quite so manic yesterday but IT guy arrived late in the afternoon to install the new machine, so will have to wait for a busy day to see how we/it copes with the workload!!??
Only working until lunchtime, then on days off, but funeral is early on Friday, so need to get all my jobs done this afternoon and tomorrow as we're going away Friday afternoon/evening.
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Morning everyone.
Really cloudy here but boy is it muggy and warm. Not complainingrather cloud than cold and rainy
Just the usual plod today, bathroom and all upstairs needs blitzing. Need to bake some twinks and maybe a sponge cake as DS has no treats for his lunch box and I am not going to a shop just for that.
Tea is a makeshift as I have a school meeting and then tap class.
Trying to convince H to take his redundancy money and run (not from me obviously). He keeps changing his mind argh!!!!
RR fingers crossed that is a sign your ear is on the mend.
Camelot have a good last day x
Hester can't see video on FB?! <confused.....doesn't take much>
Hugs and spoons all round xxxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning :hello:
Moorhen I hope your mum is feeling OK
Mogs keeps escaping so I’ve had to clip her wing. I hate doing it, those feathers are meant to be there and it just feels wrong to change something that’s natural. She’s been protesting loudly at not being able to fly up on to the fence
I’m trying to build up – or rather, restart – my emergency fund. It won’t last long though, I need to see a dentist and the guttering needs replacing. I’ve been eating out of the freezer for the past few days and have my whittled my shopping list right down. I was going to nip into town for a few bits and pieces but decided the bus fare was too expensive, so the other trus have been given short lists of things to buy on their way home from workWhen I can manage to walk to Lidl and back without collapsing in heap while whining ‘ohhhhhhh my leg, this is too haaaarrrrddddd’, I’ll buy a trolley and do the shopping myself.
I need to get Christmas cards and gift tags made, should really start on those today.Bulletproof0 -

redruby *fingers crossed for your ear*
bitsy hmm show him all the cars/guitars/toys he could buy with it then ban them when he gets it? cruel
Morning all. Weather looks awful today and it's so muggy, I have all the windows open. I keep eyeing up the elderflowers I can see out the back but I'm away tomorrow so no time to make anything. They still look quite green/buddy so hopefully they will be there still in a week.
BT have installed our phone line this morning, WM done. Going to give the bathrooms a deep clean today, dust around the living room, do tae-bo abs & glutes dvd, paint our flat no. on our bin and bake some scones. Does anyone have a recipe for scones using suet mix? It makes delicious dumplings, so delicious that I ordered a few more bags for 19p each off approved food last night, along with oh.... 240 creme eggs for OH :rotfl:
Dinner was going to be chicken stew and dumplings but it will be pork stew instead as the pork I got on offer at Mr M is stretching beautifullyLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Morning everyone,
Bargainbird could you persuade the old lady to stop off at my house with cake as well!:D
Redruby hope that the ear is feeling a bit better.
Islandmaid kitten pictures please.
Thanks to all of you for the good wishes for my Mum. She went to the fracture clinic yesterday and was told that it was still too swollen to have a permanent cast put on. She has got to keep the temporary one on till then. Dad has borrowed a wheelchair for her and is getting used to pushing her around.
DS has his last exam today and then it is his prom this evening, I can't wait to see them all dressed up. We are going to a friends house for "champagne" beforehand. I can't believe my little boy is finishing school (although he is going back to the 6th form if he gets his grades).
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0
