hi, i recently swapped my electric supply to british gas, id only been with them 4wks when i received an email saying sorry your leaving us.
when i rang to find out what they mean't they said your switching your supply to opus energy! i told them i didnt authorise it and id never heard of them.
i was told as this process had started i couldnt stop it id have to ring opus to find out why they'd taken my account without my knowledge,
rang opus all i got was sorry our mistake we'l transfer you back no explanation could be given.
5wks on from this farce ive just given BG a meter reading so still not up and running with them properly, the thing which has really made me so annoyed is its been 9wks and ive not been able to pay any bills as ive not had 1 and direct debits were cancelled, sorry its so long but does anyone know who i can write and complain to as per usual with time, phone calls, emails and stress im the one out of pocket. regards dave:mad::mad:

Its called an Erroneous Transfer.
Its important to understand why it occurred or it could happen again.
A common root cause is a neighbour putting their MPAN/MPRN on any contract in error. However, Opus are business only...so how likely is that?
Your complaint is with Opus, your correct supplier just gets told you want to leave and let you go if they have no reason to object.

An ET means you go back on the same reading or same reading +1kwh that you left on. You don't pay anything to the erroneous supplier as you never had any legal contract with them.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
