You should check the terms & conditions you signed as it will say in there. Not all companies do charge the fees in this situation, I used The Fair Claims Company Uk & advised them of my circumstances. They agreed only to charge fees of any money returned directly to me & waive red money that was used to reduce my arrears on two out of three of my accounts.
I don't think this is normal, the lady I spoke to said most companies wouldn't do this but they would. They seem to be more ethical (if that's possible) as their fees are low too!
Good luck, I know you can cancel your agreement too but there is usually an admin charge I think.0 -
