Sorry if this is the wrong area. I am totally against Facebook and everything it stands for. But...... I reluctantly signed up some time ago to view photos posted by my daughter.
It unfortunately succeeded in working.
Since then I have tried again and through probably miskeying my login details it has now disabled my account. That's the good news. But does anyone know if that means it's totally dead if I leave it alone now ? Which is precisely what I want.

OP - Simply disabling your account does not delete it, but there is a method...If you don't think you'll use Facebook again, you can request to have your account permanently deleted. Please keep in mind that you won't be able to reactivate your account or retrieve any of the content or information you've added. Before you do this, you may want to download a copy of your info from Facebook. Then, if you'd like your account permanently deleted with no option for recovery, log in to your account and fill out this form.
If you can't log in to your account, you'll need to reset your password first. To do this, go to https://www.facebook.com and click the Forgot your password? link below the password field. Once you’ve followed the instructions to reset your password and can log into your account, you can deactivate or delete your account using the steps outlined above.
Hope it helps.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Please try not to get so upset about it, unless you have posted something terrible or very private it wont be a problem. Are you aware that what you post on here is open to all the internet also?Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Just wait until you start receiving all that "School Feed" spam.
It looks like Zuckerberg sold out at the right time. My fleeting interest in seeing what the idiots I used to know from school are up to these days has now passed. Seeing those idiots constantly posting pictures of themselves wearing suits and acting all civilised and grown-up at weddings, when I know they're actually a bunch of thugs without a single brain cell between them, is a complete turn-off.0 -
I use the other one where you say nice things to people faces on their walls, but run them down behind their backs in chat. It's called 'twofacedbook'.0

Thanks Marleyboy. However when I try to log on to do as you suggest (I need a new password) I can't get past it saying it's been disabled. It won't allow a password change.
I've nothing on there that matters, I just want to get away from any risk of idiots using it to send out rubbish and any connection to its whole concept. Yes I know I shouldn't have signed up in the first place. !!!!0
