My photos used to be separated by Year - under the folder heading it would show 2011etc followed by a feint grey double line. There is a separator for every year since i installed Picasa - except 2012.

I had assumed this was when i started taking more photos with my phone and less with my camera ( which needed anew battery) and hoped it would reappear when importing photos from camera.

My question is, does anyone know where this is controlled and how i restore it?

Just tried this and it works for me

1. View > folder view > Flat folder view
2. View > folder view > Sort by creation date
3. Tools > folder manager then ensure that your picture folders are set to scan always.

Any other Folder view choice in 1 or 2 loses the year separators.
I don't get a heading for the current year (2012) but I do get one for 2011 and previous years.

Looking on the interwebs, this is common and you have to assume that folders in the view higher than the 2011 separator are this year's folders.
