Also, when my teenagers were wearing the same size in undies & socks I would distinguish by one wearing only black & the other having colours ;)
Yes, that was my trick with socks: one had grey, one had black, and they were both 'thin' socks, while the 3rd had thick sports socks. But apparently I was the only one who knew what everyone wore: everyone else only knew what he personally wore!

I can't remember what I did with pants, although one of them had boxers and the other two slips, which helped. I know I'd buy different at Christmas! Still do, even though they do their own washing ...

  • I work 4 days a week and my husband 5 days plus I work ad-hoc nights over the weekends and some days at weekends at a maternity night nanny.

we have an almost 2yr old and I returned to work when he was 9mths old initially 3 days a week and then 4 days when he was 13mths.

I have found workign 8-4 suits me better than 9-5 - my husband has an hr commute so we all leave at 7.15am (means waking toddler early but needs must) and one of us drops him at childcare (nursery or childminder) and I collect him at 4.30pm (on nursery days sometimes husband collects him at 6pm).

So I get home with toddler at 4.45/5pm which means we can cook tea and have something ready for 6pm when husband gets home we eat then and then we bath little one at 6.30pm and one of us does stories and bedtime and the other tidy's tea away and then little on in bed for 7/7,30pm and we get lunches ready for next day and generally can be sat down by 8pm

On the weekends we do washing so overnight on a fri/sat/sun night machine goes on and is out on line first thing, we brought a 9kg drum washing machine which has helped immensly.

On a monday I am off so always do something fun in morning with little one and we have a good tidy in afternoon,

on days off meals are generally something that can be made into other meals for mid week so cassroles, spag bol, curries, roast dinner (left over chicken made into pies).

Ohhhhh and we live for annual leave days (and yes we send toddler to nursery when we are off and not doing anything planned as we have to pay for it whether he goes or not and then we have batch cooking days or cleaning days!!)
