I believe in giving praise where its due so I would like to say a MASSIVE! thank you to the apple store i went to.

My iPhone fell out of my locker at work and broke so I took it to the store which i had better not name. The guy told me that it was beyond repair so he would need to replace it which would normally cost £139 but because he "never heard" me say it fell he would just put it through as defective and it would be replaced under my warrenty for free!

I know I got very lucky and im very greatful to him :D

Nice one, the guy does you a favour and you post on a public forum so there's a chance the guy could get in trouble

    I've been Money Tipped!
At least remove the branch details - he did you a favour, now his boss (or head office) is probably going to go on a witch hunt.
    :hello:
  • i put the name of the store because i thought people would moan if i didnt. just goes to show that you cant win on this site. You cant even praise a shop on here without people jumping down your throat! Think this will be my last post on here since the quality of the site is rapidly going downhill. Shame really I used to think this was a fantastic site.

Apple can do a "one time" offer for broken screens on iPhone / iPads etc but they obviously don't like to advertise this a lot.

Maybe this was the particular iStores way of extending this offer to you, bet you will buy the next i* device based on your customer treatment with this issue?

Apple, like a few others, will offer a loss leader of repair because you are then impressed and stick to their product.

    Good idea imo.

Meh, The glass and labour charges to replace a screen is about £30 and less considering most Apple Genius's will be there anyway, £30 of goodwill goes a long way.

That said, I know customers who have been turned away with broken screens or charged, so I suppose they have a quota or something.

So you're not going to edit your post then ?

Praising a shop is fine, but if the person in that shop has helped you but possibly jeopardised their job in the process, would it not be common sense to leave the location details out ?

    Common sense really.
