I am in the process of finding home insurance for our house and am getting confused with some of the questions.
I have got relationship status which is Partner, but then for my partner to be added to the policy it asks for relationship to main proposer and the option i Have got are common law Spouse, Civil Partner or spouse.
which one applies to us as spouse is for married couples and Civil Partner is for gay couples, what is common law spouse for?
sorry for being so frank and a bit thick

There is no legal state of being in a "common law" marriage.
It is just a euphemism for cohabiting.0
