I can tell you from previous experience. They always come 3 times about 2 weeks apart on different days and times. They charge for a first visit and a second visit then try again attempting to charge for an attendance to levy fee, van fees and a few others then give up.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

    thats about right

they will try a few times to get a levy but will eventually return it to the council as Nulla Bona (no goods)

A bailiff wont keep coming back time and time again because there is no financial gain for them

once you get the letter from your doctor you should be classed as a vulnerable debtor and the debt should be recalled from rossies

The may levy your car but thats fine if you receive a notice of seizure of goods listing your car you simply send a copy of the HP agreement to the council asking them to remove the car from the levy and all fees associated with the levy

  • Can you believe I have just got home to find another doorstep letter waiting for me! Thats 2 x visits in the same week!! I today had an email from the council saying if I make a reasonable offer & they agree it they will inform Rossendales & arrange the payment plan although payments will still need to be made direct to Rossendales! I replied with my offer of £60 a month & waiting a response.

I am on a DMP & I am aware that this is a proirity debt hence why I am not trying to ignore it. Problem has been where I was talking directly with the council to sort this out, not getting a response from the council to arrange a payment plan and then receiving this letter out of the blue. I have offered a reasonable monthly ammount in comparison to my expediture & hope to clear this debt by end of year.

Does your DMP provider know about this problem? Because really you need to defer those payments until the CT debt is sorted out.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • No I havent spoken to them yet! I only pay £21 a month which means all my creditors get £1 a month!

I have said this before but i Will say it again if you have to pay the bailiff firm

DO NOT agree to a payment agreement you have to pay manually every month
payment by standing order only (if they wont agree to it complain to the council)

Make dam sure you have in writing the date of the month the payment has to reach there account (not the day you make payment)

If payment has to reach there account by the 28th day of every month your standing order should be for the 20th giving 8 day to reach there account

  • Hi, I just wanted to thank you all for your guidance. I can confirm that it has now been sorted. The local council ended up getting involved and have agreed a payment plan with me. I have taken note of the payment dates & have arranged to pay 5 days after my pay date to ensure the money reaches their account in time. The council have directly spoken with the bailiff and informed them to put a hold on my account to avoid any further visits from the bailiff.
I feel I can now rest at ease! Thanks again, you have all been a great support!
