Flymo leaves most of the grass in the borders :(

Hey all
Ive got a Flymo Easi Glide 330VX. Its got a grass collector but most of the grass just gets blown into my borders.
Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong or is this a design fault on all Flymos?
I'm beginning to wish I'd never bought one TBH as it takes me longer to collect the grass cuttings than it does to mow the lawn.

You could just leave the cuttings. They will mulch the soil, basically feeding it, and will go brown soon.

Mine does the same. If you leave them they sometimes grow! Would love to know the answer.

I cant leave that much grass in the borders. As you can see it covers most of the borders.

    How old is the machine?

Could be a worn blade or a blockage leading to the grass box. Worth checking both and if worn get it changed. It seems there is not enough "lift" to force the cut pieces into the grass box.

I have the same model, or a very similar one, and yes it does leave cuttings on the lawn, but not that much as long as I regularly empty the bin. It does not spread cuttings out far from where it is used though, just leaves a trail. There might be a fault in yours. I have to regularly unblock the vents above the blade or the hover fails, a bit of a design fault.

This is worth trying. Start mowing in the opposite direction and when you pass the border in the picture make sure the border is now on the opposite side of the mower. The reason I say this is because years back I had a Flymo without a grass box and if you mowed in straight lines it always left a row of clippings down, I think, the right hand side, and if that side of the mower was over the edge of the border, that row of clipping got blown onto the border. So I mowed in the opposite direction and the problem was gone. The same with a grass box, if you mow over the edge of the lawn you leave a gap for the grass to be blown out instead of being sucked into the box.

Sorry, but I have borders on all four sides, so grass gets blown into them no matter which way I mow.
