Car Insurance help

Morning All,

So.. I'm learning to drive and nearly ready for my test :j

We have a car in the household that my OH is the registered keeper of and is fully comp on his insurance with protected NCB, when I pass my test he said he won't put me on his insurance as he doesn't want to.

Someone in work has just said that two people can not be fully insured on the same car, is this right?

Does this mean if my OH wont put me on his insurance that I need to buy a car?

If he won't put you on as a named driver then you cannot drive the car.

Maybe you should point out to him that what's his is yours!

    Thanks Quentin,

So i can't get my own insurance then? :(

Oh heavens, looks like I need to start saving!

Is there anywhere that this information is in a document online (i've tried google) or something just so I can show him?

Well..... you can "legally" buy another policy, though there will be issues over dual cover in the event of any claim.
