Drove through bus lane with camera's?

Been driving over 20yrs and tonight I have drove in 3 of these not sure what will happen next?.
Had to go to Manchester airport tonight and on the way home took a wrong exit slip rd and got lost. Ended up in Didsbury and then Stretford before I recognised where I was.
I know you can drive in bus lanes outside of the designated times on the sign's, but cos I was driving my new car and lost, did'nt realise it was'nt after 7 o'clock at night.
Now I know some bus lane's only work mon-fri and some mon-sat, but I dont remember which they were tillI I got to Stretford and noticed, then I had kittens.
I've always had a clean licence, what will happen now?

(origanally put on wrong board, now moved to this one)

I believe it is just a fixed penalty.... as stated, majorty of them are simply deterants rather than actually working but if it comes through saying you have to pay £100 for driving in a bus lane then you just send a cheque to the address provided.

  • Thanks guys, I did hear I would probably get a penalty, but it would be £100 for each offence.

You will get a Fixed Penalty Charge Notice for each offence if you're unlucky. Depends on how vigilant they are monitoring the cameras. I assume they were CCTV and not fixed cameras? The Penalty will be anything between £60 and £100 as the amount varies depending upon which Authority it comes under. If you pay up within the discount period, normally 14 days, the amount payable will be abated by 50%. It is not an endorsable offence so no points and does not have to be disclosed to insurers as not a material fact.
