Need counterpart to pick up car saturday, but I've lost it

Hi,

I recently purchased a car on finance and am due to pick it up this weekend. The garage has asked for the original version of my counterpart which I appear to have lost.

Has anyone had any experience of this situation or know of any alternative courses of action I could take so I can still pick up the car this weekend?

What's it got to do with the garage? Are you getting free insurance with the car?

no, they've just asked for it, I'm not too sure what it's for to be honest

Depending on how prime or otherwise the finance is, you'd be surprised what documentation is asked for by some finance companies.
Phone them now to ask if they will accept different ID, otherwise it will be no piece of paper, no car.

managed to resolve this thankfully, i think. had to ring up the dvla and give permission for them to pass on my details to the finance company.
