how long does it take a paypal claim to be decided?

Hello,
I currently have a paypal claim on my account, buyer trying to say item not as described when it IS. Basically they decided they no longer needed the item upon receiving it and thought they could treat my seller account like their local Argos. My account is currently -£90 due to this and paypal have been "reviewing case" for 5 weeks now. I am not amused. I know paypal have a history of deciding in the buyers favour but I thought I'd give them a chance to prove me wrong. My question is; how much longer is this likely to go on for?

Wouldn't have thought it would take much longer... how is buyer claiming it's misdescribed?My TV is broken!

thanks for replying, its an electrical item and from where the picture was taken you can't see the brand name (I also used a stock photo which I didn't mention in the listing; bad i know) the buyer is saying they wanted the item for aesthetic purposes and they wouldn't have bought it if they'd known this. I DID however state in my listing that the item has so and so engraved on the front, as IMHO it was the brand which gave it its value.
Along the same lines of buying a Hitachi computer monitor then complaining because it says HITACHI on the front. Then they changed tactics and decided the item is now also damaged.0 -
When PP are dealing with a claim based on item not as described or something along those lines do they actually look at the listing or is it solely based on what the buyer/seller say?
If your listing clearly covers what the seller is complaining about and should have known about forwarding the listing would help.:dance:One good turn gets most of the duvet!! :dance:0 -
I have no idea if pp actually look at the listings. The weird thing is my listing has a question from the buyer on it asking about the engraving, so obviously he was aware of it when he bought it! I think he just thought "the photo doesn't have that on it so that will be my excuse".0

Copy the listing and e-mail it to the buyer pointing out he knew about the engraving then forward that and the reply to PP. It might swing things in your favour.
