Capital One Gold Card - Accidental Damage Cover?

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me.

I just dropped my Canon Ixus 800IS camera which I only bought on 27th December last year and unfortuantely I've managed to break the lense on it. It's very annoying as I paid £200 for it and had been saving for ages, but that's by the by!

Because I dropped it, my warranty is now invalid. Argh! I figured I could try and say it wasn't caused by me dropping it, but I'm certain Canon know their stuff and would tell me where to go.

I bought the camera on my Capital One Gold Visa card and so I was wondering if anyone knows anything about accidental damage cover that might be included on this card? I will try ringing Capital One, but sometimes it's easier to ask on here as people are often more knowledgeable. I have tried a search on the web, but can't find a great deal of detail on the T&Cs of Capital One cards.

I know that the consumer credit act s.75 gives some protection, although I'm doubting it would extend as far as accidental damage, even though the camera is currently unusable.

Any help or advice on my best course of action to save a hefty repair bill would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, No, I would say it's unlikely that they would cover accidental damage, do you have contents insurance with AD cover on it ?
