hi all, first i would like to thank rizlao1 for his help, right here i go please bear with me.my mother and father own there own home, they are both in there 70`s,at the back of the houses they all have a small plot of land, they have been tending the garden for the last 30 years and have spent hundreds on it but it keeps them happy, anyway about six months ago they found a letter thruogh the door off this guy who had bought n05 in there street and it said that his deeds state that he owns all the land at the back of the houses.hes only had the house a couple of years and he rents it out to the social.so i told my parents that no way can someone just come round and tell them the land is not theres after 30years of looking after it,so i told them to go and see a solicitor which they did,and he said that he cant see why after this long its not theres and he will take it up,after a few letters keeping them informed they recieved one friday saying it has gone to a adjudicator at the land registry, now the letter said that it would take around £5000 pounds in fees, now there is no way we can afford this,so i am wondering what to do for the best any advice would be gratefull, thanks

  • Unfortunately fees are unavoidable when you use solicitors.

Do you have legal cover on your household insurance, or do your parents have it? Either that or go to the Citizens Advice Bureau? They may have a way around not using solicitors, but I doubt it.
