Ok so we belong to a private housing association (charity).
We have a shred ownership property with them and we are complaining for a number of reasons (another story).
In short we have reached the last stage of the complaints procedure and are due to meet with a panel of directors.
We missed our first appointment because I forgot - I explained this, appologised and arranged a new appointment.
The new appointment was today and on Friday my partner became ill (she is 9 months pregnant). She called them on Friday to explain but there was no response, so she left a message and also emailed.
They have emailed back today to say they don't feel the reason is acceptable and that they will continue regardless.
I know that we made the first mistake but we now have a serious reason with medical records to support this.
Do we have a point and should they have allowed us to attend after the baby has been born or were they right to proceed?

After an initial missed appointment, which will have wasted their time, I can see why they are not being leniant.
I understand your partner is pregnant, but did that mean you could not attend the meeting? Is she currently requiring round the clock care? Could someone else not have come to see her whilst you nipped out for the hour or so the meeting would take.
As it is YOU who is complaining, and you who are beginning this action, they will be expecting YOU to go through with the appointments this causes. If they had instigated this process then that would be a different story?0
