looking at buying an slk 230, and have noticed to buttons that i have not reaaly asked about.
the first is on the dash panel and looks like the car tipped forward at an angle with a hook on a cable dangling above the back of the car.
the other isnt really a button but a knob, on the centre console just in front of the power hood red knob.
it just turns left to right.
cant seem to find these in the handbook of the car we have just seen.
anyone help??

I would imaging that the button is for disabling the tilt switch in the alarm system when towing the vehicle. Perhaps somebody who owns one could confirm. Sorry, dont know about the other.0

Why not just ring the local dealer, they will tell you,if no one on here knows. There are two sides to every story.

I think its a button to be pressed before towing the car.
Towing a car with automatic transmition would otherwise damage it.0 -
One of those buttons clearly indicates that you should not buy an SLK230....553780080
