Hey guys,
Basically my query is..
I'm starting up a new business in the near future and am looking to sell a limited number of items to consumers. I was wondering whether it was possible that i could set a limit on my account of lets say $750.00 (sorry my pound button isnt working!) so i can only receive that amount of money and then all other payments be rejected?
i know i havent made things too clear so please feel free to ask questions..

i am not aware that it is possible to do that and i also can't think of any reason why you would want to
can you explain your reasons for wanting to do this?
i would imagine you could upset a few buyers if it were possible to reject payments once you had received a certain amount0 -

i cant really because its a new business which i dont want to reveal..
Basically customers will send money directly to my paypal account and then when i sell out of an item all payments will be rejected. I know its hard to understand where im coming from but because of the nature of the business customers will understand if their payment is rejected.
I read something actually that paypal stick a balance limit on all UK accounts of $1000.00 but i need to find out exactly how that works..

But if you only list a limited number of items, surely when there gone there gone!!!

Can't your website that you are selling the items on just change to 'out of stock' instead and therefore not allow anyone to attempt to purchase.
It doesn't sound very professional you wanting PayPal to reject potential customers payments.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Hey everyone,
Many many thanks for responding and i appreciate your remarks.
However please do not worry about the nature of the business.. My query is, is it possible to prevent payments from entering a paypal account? whether by putting a limit on an account or somehow blocking the account?
thanks again,

yeah...
you selling on ebay??
put 75 items in the 'items available' box...
when you have sold 75 of them for £10 you wont be able to accept any more orders??
anyway, sounds well dodgy to me, you telling me people will want to pay you and you wont accept it??? not a good business plan, once you sold your idea, for £1 or £75 it will be back up for sale within minutes for less than you sold it for and they will sell more than you..
go on tell us the idea !0 -
hahaha i really would love to but i cant!! I've spoken some of the top people in the kind of area I am looking into and they are very excited by the prospect of working for me, so its not dodgy! lol
i wont be trading on ebay so i wont be able to do the 75 items example unfortunately..
anyone know about the limit question?!

I can't find any mention of setting a limit to how much you can receive via PayPal.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

a basic paypal personal account has a monthly receiving limit, but at the same time with that basic account you cant receive payments funded by credit/debit cards...only if someone has a balance in their paypal account already or funds from their bank...
If you want to accept debit/credit card paypal payments you have to upgrade to a premier account, and there is no receiving limits on those...0 -
hmmm, i'll give paypal a call on monday and see what they can do..
Thanks for your responses, they are greatly appreciated..0
