France with child

We are driving through france this summer and plan to go from dunkirk to bayeux for the start of the trip wed-sat. Taking in the somme and normandy beaches. Then onto the loire (courtalain) before driving back direct to dunkirk through rouen after that. Can any recommend places to stay along this route and things to do? We like wildlife and zoos, parks etc. Our little one will be just over 1 years so we can't travel too far at a time prob 2-3 hours max unless it's night time.

I suggest if your going to see the carpet thing in Bayeux then you take your time and look at it slowly and when you're finished, before you go through the exit walk back to the start and THEN switch on the sound system they give you and look again, otherwise you are out much too quickly. Or vice versa, but don't go through the door!!!
