does it really cost £200 a week? The Op is only working 20 hours per weekEven children who are disabled? What happened to looking after the most vulnerable? When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

does it cost £200 every single week to care for a child? I've got 2 at home and it doesn't cost that muchSo because it cant be quantified or because some people believe its too much then all benefits for disabled children should be scrapped? When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

and that is why I'm asking the question. I don't know, so I am asking a questionWhen your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

To be frank, I find these forums very judgemental. No-one here knows my exact situation and it was an honest question on how these benefits interact, not how much I can screw from the government which I don't want to do.
I am only querying what difference rectifying my WTC would effect other benefits. We are not your normal family, we have circumstances hence these benefits. Most will never understand that...
Thanks for those who have tried to help but I won't post again, I do not have to justify myself nor the money my son gets based on his severe disabilities. It isn't £200 a week for him, it is £190 a week for him, his disabilities and my other daughter.

Have a look at http://www.turn2us.entitledto.co.uk if you want to confirm what the CAB told you. But it's probably correct as there are various disregards for HB/CTB (eg they ignore child benefit).
Yes there is a lot of judgemental rubbish on this forum but there is good advice as well. If you can put up with ignoring the judgemental posts you will find this forum a good resource.
There's a useful ignore facility to permanently block individual posters so you don't even need to read their rubbish, click on the poster's name and "add to ignore list".0 -
