Credit Card insurance premiums paid whilst off sick

Hi. I have credit card insurance and went off sick from work. They honoured the agreement and paid under the terms (12 months), however when the cover/repayment was used up, I was still off sick and there was still a balance. As the insurance premium is still being taken, and I am still off from work, I wondered if anyone else has experienced this and should I still be paying for insurance I can not really claim fully on as I am not working? Should I claim a refund under the PPI scheme? I checked the original agreement (but this is over 20 years old) and it mentions the insurance cover should have expired when they completed the payout/claim, however it is still being taken. Whilst I am still employed, I am not actually in work for the minimum of hours you need to be to get the insurance in the first place and have been too ill to investigate prior to now. I did ask the advisor when I initially had the claim honoured and they simply referred me to the agreement - no verbal help or suggestions. I am concerned that if I approach the company now and ask for a refund of the insurance, they will ask for the card to be repaid in full, especially as they will be reminded that my income has dropped & I am still off sick. I have had successful claims in the past and do know the benefit of the policy, however it seems wrong to continue paying for an insurance that would not pay out now/again as I am not working at present to qualify for it. I would welcome advice/guidance from anyone who has had a similar experience/success stories. Many thanks.
