Travelodge cancellation policy

Hi. Can anyone give info.
We are travelling from Scotland to England (400 miles) middle of next week to attend a funeral. We've booked 2 rooms at the £39 Saver Rate in a Travelodge for one night. Weather forecast is now showing heavy snow next week in north of England, which will force us to cancel trip.
I know that Saver rate doesn't allow cancellations, but has anyone ever had any luck in getting even a credit note for forced cancellation at Travelodge.
We have to drive as rail/air costs are out of the question.

I dont think you will stand much chance of getting a credit for the stays. However, you could always email customer services and explain your situation. You never know!
Saver rates are designed to be non-cancellable, non-refunable, so I would not pin much hope on it.
What i would suggest though is, if you do have to cancel, let the hotel know as early as possible. That way it doesnt look like you just couldnt be bothered to arrive. "Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion". _party_0 -
Hopefully the weather will not turn out to be so bad, so if you get no refund by cancelling, maybe don't cancel just in case you do decide to go. I suppose it depends on what roads you'll be travelling on, but I would have thought that many main roads will still be OK to drive on. I know the A66 in Cumbria is often closed though.0

Sorry but I don't think there is even the tiniest chance Travelodge would give you a refund as the terms and conditions are quite clear. You would need compassionate circumstances or a genuine booking error to get a refund. I got a refund for a supersaver room last week when I booked the wrong night - I got a refund only because I informed them within a minute of the mistake and re-booked for the correct night, and the mitigating circumstances for the mistake were that I had just spent a week in hospital with a sick child and was rather knackered when making the booking.0 -

If cost is such an issue, I'm surprised that you are staying over - if there are at least two of you travelling, why couldn't one of you drive each way?0 -
You should be fine - the snow probably won't last long [if it comes at all]
A bit of snow shouldn't stop you anyway0 -

Re travel by train, cheapest saver fare available for our party is £306, so, yes cost is an issue. As far as driving 850 miles in one day is concerned, not possible as our 2 drivers are in 60s.
Thanks other posters, weather forecast changes slightly every day, so we may be lucky. Hopefully main roads will soon clear if snow does come.0
