Hi all

Please forgive if this is the wrong section

OK i have just got my latest credit report from Equifax and the above named company has appeared on it.

I have never seen this before or do i know who they are, Searching on here they appear to be linked with all sorts of retailers from vacuum cleaners to cars.

Report says it started in 2004 for £2,513.00 to be repaid at £42.00 per month over 60 months and to-date has a balance of £2,372.00 meaning 3 1/2 payments where made.

To my knowledge i have never dealt with them and never received any for of communication form them, with this in mind can a just ask Equifax to remove it from my file as it doesn't show on any other credit report company i have lived at the same address since 1990 and had the same phone number so they would have had no problems getting in touch

Cheers
Andy

Don't forget the interest, however without the APR it would impossible to work that out.

When was the last payment made? If more than six years ago it should have dropped off the report by now.
  • these horrible people bought some debt from GE CAPITAL , there very rude and under trained staff , i usally just put the phone down on them , just like they have on me ! a link to al qaeda would help

Well its showing as defaulted in June 2008 saying six weeks in arrears right up to this month but it also says it was fixed term so that says to me it an all in one interest added up front.

so taking that into account that makes £1,953.00 paid leaving a balance of £560.00.

As for when the last payment was made i can only assume it was six weeks prior to June 2008 which makes it about 4 years old

    Something very iffy about this

Creation tend to report 6 months in arrears for extended periods of time. Sometimes many years before they formally default an account, so you can't just count back 6 months and expect that to give any reliable date for when it was last paid.

That is all a bit beside the point if it's not yours.

You need to demand in no uncertain terms that they remove their information from your CRA files.

I have already submitted a removal order to Equifax as soon as i had seen it, also they seam to have some defaulted CCJs from 1998 on there.

What a bunch of ******* how can they get it so wrong as none of this shows on the Noddle or Experian searches

Just goes to show you need to look at all the CRA

Complain to Creation as well. Equifax will normally fob you off saying that the creditor says it's correct so they are doing nothing.

Don't call. I meant write and complain. With the details off the credit report.

They can't put up any valid excuses for not dealing with it then.

and send it recorded delivery (the expense will hopefully be worth it). I'd also consider a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act 1998. They can charge 'reasonable' admin costs for this - £10 seems to be the norm. At the end of day though you should not need to be out of pocket to get this sorted.
