Just waiting now

Hi, we are selling our house and had an offer.

Last week we got the final bit of paperwork needed to our solicitors. They then said they will advise the buyers solicitors accordingly and we will wait to see if the buyer wants to proceed.

A week later and I have rung our solicitors again to find that they have not heard anything from the buyer at all. I should have asked how long we have to wait but I didn't think at the time.

Does anyone know how long the buyer soliticors may take to get back to us? Impossible question I guess. Even if the buyer doesn't want to go ahead I would have thought we should hear soon? He's knocked us down a fair bit as we want a quick sale - so if I were in his shoes I would have got straight back with an answer!

Thanks

Has the buyer booked a survey yet?

If there is an ea involved in the sale, then get them to chase the buyer up as it's part of what you pay them for.

If you are in Scotland though, I understand the solicitor acts as a replacement for the ea/solicitor system we have in England.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
