Not sure if this is in the right place but I am looking for some advice on sat navs.
At the moment I have an old sat nav. An Advent 400. It has Navigator 5 version 5.1 as its software.
The maps are now old (2005)
It has an option which I really like. The input can be like a mobile phone. 3x3 pressing the second button once for A twice for B or three times for C.
This is great for people like me with fat clumsy fingers.
Does anyone know where I can either get new maps (Advents website doesn't have them) or a new Sat nav with the same option to have a 3x3 keypad?
Thanks in advance.

Do you have a smart phone? If so have you considered using that?

As you probably know already, the Advent 400 was a rebadged Medion which apparently used software from Navigon (and maps from Navteq).
There doesn't seem to be an easy way to get updated maps, and the difficult ways are probably ~too~ difficult.
But you might find that the text input feature has been carried on in other Navigon products, so it might be worth trying to demo a current model. Problem there is that Navigon are now owned by Garmin, who do not use that feature - so it may well get dropped...0 -

Most Tom Toms have speech input, unless you need the three tap feature0
