I just googled it susplum because I was interested too!

I think he meant TANSTAAFL: There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.

    Which is very true! :-)

Ah, that's what I came on here for to see if anyone had any advance new.

I have to disagree about not being worth it, without the cheap days I wouldn't be able to afford to put the listings on in the main core listings. Around 1000 listings in eBay shop bring in around £250 in sales a week - if that - it would cost us around £750 to list them all each week/10 days to bring in £1000 in sales if that. I listed 800 on the 5p day and I have done £1000 so for me it is better as we get the exposure we cannot usually afford!!

It does depend on what you are selling though and how much you have to sell of course. If selling kids clothes for example, put the same sizes on and say in your listings that you have other item in this size for sale as people will buy more than one item to save on postage costs. If you have loads to sell stick it on Turbo Lister and get it all ready for the cheap day then'll have more to download when the time comes. the last one was 11 days ago so I am guessing we only have a week or more before another date is given.

I am in the middle of having to remove all my free postage and gallery - only another 500 to go and another 1000 item to get listed. it is going to be a long week.

It really depends on what category and type of items you sell. Some will do really well on cheap listing days, while others will be competiting with hundreds of similar items starting at 99p. Collectibles, one-offs and hard-to-find items usually do well and many cheap listing days offer Fixed price listings which reduce your risks (but limit your upside).

Turbo Lister is the easiest way to do fast edits of multiple listings, but don't try and download more than 1500 listings in one go - Turbo Lister can't handle it. If you have a large number of changes to make, suggest you can use grep (or whatever text edit you are comfortable with) to do multiple "search and replaces" on the text. This is handy when eBay changes some policy and you need to reword all your listing's terms and conditions, payment or refund policy, etc. to comply. Note: it's often a good idea to try changing just a few listing to check that you haven't made a mistake, or that Turbo Lister doesn't do something unintended.

Little known secret: you can get advance notice of cheap listing days if you use Turbo Lister. Schedule a listing for a few days up to sometime next week and if the rates are reduced on that date - that's going to be a cheap listing day. (eBay has to internally schedule them around 7 to 14 days in advance.) In any event it's always a good idea to have a few items ready to list at short notice to take advantage of cheap listing days...

    Hope this helps!
