Blooming Pigeons
Pigeons are making a right mess of one corner of my garden, continually tramping on and damaging plants. I have tried keeping them off by using stakes and garden twine - to no avail. Do you think if I plant two of three patio roses (as thorny as possible) it might deter them?

It might be a big unsightly, but hang some CD's from garden canes, the flashes usually deter them. Some people use owl ornaments, but they quickly get used to them. A sprinkler system hidden in your borders might help too if you turn it on when they're flapping about. but, if all else fails, shoot the blighters.0

contact a local shooting club, they may be able to help

I am plagued by wood pigeons in my garden.
Only one way to stop them is shooting them......an airgun is best.
Had a good result a few days ago......
Shot a pigeon that was sat on my house chimney pot, nice clean head shot.
I did not just see where it went. Wife said its dropped down chimney flapping like a gud 'un into (unlit ) stove.
Great result one very dead pigeon AND saved myself £45 cos I don't need a chimney sweep this year.
