Car insurance claim headache

Hi. Just looking for some guidance. Have had my car vandalised on numerous occasions and insurance company say I must pay the excess for each incident even though previous damage was already there and the repair would be no different in that the panels are resprayed after one of seven scratches for the same cost?? This seems ridiculous. (Headache further compounded by the fact that i neglected to protect my no claims bonus, which I have always done previously.) Life is tough at times.

Worse, you will (now that you have reported them) have to disclose these as separate claims if you approach other insurers for quotes in the future 3/5 years.0

Only claim for the scratches that happened on the most recent incident, tell them you don't want to claim for the older scratches. They may ask for a betterment contribution but this may be cheaper than numerous excess payments and you won't have to declare 2/3 claims on future insurance quotes.0

Treat this advice with caution if your insurer already is aware of the truth.
You will still need to disclose the various vandalism incidents which they know about even if you don't end up making a "claim" for each of them.0
