Holiday Insurance - why are they asking where in Europe?

I've been looking online today at holiday insurance for my trip later in the summer and have noticed that at each site I have visited I have been asked expressly if I am travelling to either: spain, malta, turkey or Greece and wondered why they were asking. Is there an additional travel insurance premium for travelling to these places?

Ask the insurer in question.0

It seemed to be the majority of the insurers that were asking so was wondering what it was due to? Wondering if the Eurozone crisis was affecting premiums for visitors to this area.0

Ha ha Bob, good point. Although still confused why they've singled those 4 countries out from the other main European travel destinations seeing as Spain is the most popular destination for visitors from the UK.0

Thanks for that Bob, that definately explains it.0
