Sending large amount of money

Just looking for advice re sending large amounts to solicitor for house purchase. I use Barclays online banking but I know there is a 10k per day limit for BACS payments. Is there a limit for a CHAPS payment too?
In rented at the moment and have the cash from our house sale in various savings accounts. Need to send 64k in the next week or so then over 300k on completion.
Do I do both of these by CHAPS online or do I have to go into my local branch?
Thanks for any advice.

No limiton CHAPS, but a fee (£25?). Don't know if you can do it online. Call them?
Write a cheque (but takes 7 working days so not time?).
Faster Payments is same day, but different banks have different limits - if Barclays is £10K, you'd need to do £10K each day for 7 days!
For £300? CHAPS is the answer.0 -
I used Faster Payments with Nationwide, their transaction limit is £5000, but there is no daliy limit!
So we just did multiple Faster Payments and didnt waste £25 on a chaps payment.
Trouble is the banks are going to recommend a chaps payment everytime if Faster Payments is free.Mini me due March 2014
