    I've been Money Tipped!
Hong Kong, Phuket, Bangkok, Phnom Penh and we're so very VERY EXCITED!!!!!!!

In answer to how much spent?

For me, OH, DS (8 whilst on hols), DD (6) we exchanged Clubcard vouchers a year or 2 ago on a promotional exchange rate, which gets us to HK. Flights around Asia costing teeny amounts as we're going on Airasia, and booked months ago - £18 for all 4 of us to fly Phuket - Bangkok inc meals. Staying with friends in Cambodia, and hotel bookings not more than £800 for the 4 weeks - pushed the boat out in Phuket too!

Just need to get to the end of term now - writing kids reports are a never ending nightmare!!!!

As a single person with no children, I never go on holiday during the school holidays - everywhere is too busy and too expensive!

I'm going for a short break in Portugal in early July and then I'll start thinking of my main holiday of the year, usually 2 weeks in SE Asia in September or October.

Another vote for avoiding going abroad during the summer school holidays. Done all that, and no need now.

So far this year 3 weeks d-i-ying in Tunisia in Jan/Feb. Hammamet, Sousse, Tozeur, and Skanes. Weather was crap in general, so don't recommend Tunisia at all for winter sun. Great country though, providing you get away from the touristic comfort zones.

3 weeks d-i-ying in Turkey in April. Icmeler (+ Marmaris), and then Fethiye. Turkey is great, so many places worth visiting, and everywhere has its own different character. So far have also stayed in Istanbul (several times), Ankara, Cappadocia (fairy-chimney land), Antalya, Side (didn't like), Manavgat, and Alanya). Always book accommodation through Travel Republic.

Was thinking about doing Eastern Thailand, and following the Meekong up to Nong Khai, and across in Laos in November. But saw a great Stay/Cruise offer for November a couple of days ago, and jumped at it.

I usually book the flights, and then do as much research as possible to get best value before booking accommodation.

And a week in September in a caravan in Morecambe!

Only crazies [or folks with kids still at school :) ] go on holiday then, roll on Sept
Or people who work in schools.
Actually, we probably come under the definition of 'crazies' :D
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end
