    No they dont help as its your finances the bank/lender focus on and not whether you pay for an account.

    OT slightly but do you use any of the rewards attached to the fee-paying account? If not, you should switch to the standard rewards account. With this account, you'll receive a payment of £5 each month you pay in £1,000

    The point is WHY are you paying £15 per month for something most people would not ever take advantage of?
    Do you actually use the "benefits" from giving up almost £200 a year?
