Has RBS run out of cash?

Seems a pretty lame excuse that "the software wasn't tested". There are multiple levels of information assurance required by the regulator, seems to me more likely that RBS may be having liquidity issues again, especially with Greek and Spanish bonds having a few question marks at the mo.

Don't be silly! I got £10 out of the machine this morning, and there seemed to be some left in it.0

I doubt it, I suspect the cover storys, well, cover and the real problem is someone has stolen all our details/personal information etc.
Hopefully it doesnt take as long as it took Sony to sort out their little software bug.0 -
RBS have lost all of the cachet that they ever had. They appear to need more regulatory scrutiny due to the way it appears to be managed.

The 'cover story' is realistic enough - my post here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=54019271&postcount=44 gives a bit of background why I'm not going to read any conspiracies into this. And the head of retail banking has been on the radio promising to refund all the extra costs people incur, hard to do without money!0

Feel sorry for poor old Simon Hester. Don't reckon he will have much hair by the time the week is out.
Just culture or blame culture at RBS? If I were a betting man, I would say some senior managerial heads will roll over this.0 -
I wonder if some bod actually got the "are you sure you wish to continue" message?0

Forgive me if I've missed the irony, but it's Stephen Hester and he doesn't have much in the way of hair, anyway :rotfl:
At least, not on his (fore)head! :eek:Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

If people realised how poorly documented some of the core back office IT batch processes are, they'd be horrified.
Banks are not the only ones who try and save money on back office. Their mistakes are just higher profile.
You'd think they'd spend more on back office IT and support, but it's an area considered ripe for cost reduction.0
